I have been friends with Bob and Eileen for a long time. One thing among many which always impressed me was how genuinely interested Eileen was in other people, in understanding what had shaped them and 'made them tick.' She was totally non-judgemental and combined with her obvious care, love and respect you could not help but open up to her. I was always made to feel completely welcome, even at difficult times. Given how many children she worked with over the years I guess no one will ever know how many people's lives she touched and helped change for the better. I think that is an amazing legacy. My thoughts are with Bob, Kate and the rest of her family. I will miss your smile, laugh and hugs and the endless battle with your unruly hair.
